JAM & SAL'S COMMUNITY STARS
Nominations are due March 7 for
Jam 'n Sal's Community Stars The award was created by Jamal Mayers and (former Blues player) Bryce Salvador to recognize
students, in grades one through eight, who perform an uncommon
act of kindness or good deed within their school or community.
Examples include, but are not limited to, helping someone who
is hurt, organizing a community service activity, helping another
student with their homework, or helping a teacher with a project.
This program is sponsored by Mayers, Salvador and the St. Louis
Blues.
Who is Eligible?
Any public, private, or parochial school student enrolled in
grades one through eight in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area is
eligible for consideration. The St. Louis Metropolitan Area includes
St. Louis City and the counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson,
Warren, Franklin, Washington and Lincoln in Missouri plus St.
Clair, Madison, Jersey, Clinton, and Monroe counties in Illinois.
Students must have performed an uncommon act of kindness or good
deed within four months from the date of the nomination.
Process
Teachers, school administrators, coaches, and parents can nominate
eligible students by completing and submitting the nomination
form below. There is no limit on the number of students who can
be nominated. Jamal Mayers and Bryce Salvador will review nominations
and select a total of 50 students as Community Stars. Each student
selected and three guests will have the opportunity to attend
a Blues practice, which includes lunch, a meet and greet with
Bryce and Jamal, and a tour of the Blues locker room. (Blues
practice and locker room tours will be held at Scottrade Center
or the Ice Zone at St. Louis Mills.) Students will also receive
four (4) tickets to a Blues game, a certificate, and a T-shirt.
