MISSION OF
THE KYHA COACHES COMMITTEE

The mission of the KYHA Coaches Committee is: to provide the best coaching possible in order that every player will grow in their hockey skills and character.

We believe that with the right learning environment, each young man and woman involved in our program can develop as a person, teammate and individual player.  We are committed to putting the best people possible on the ice with your children to insure this success.

2008-09 COACHING APPLICATIONS

Whether this is your first year wanting to coach or you're a seasoned veteran, everyone who is interested in a coaching position in the 2008-09 season must fill out and return the KYHA Coaching Application. The deadline for all applications is Friday, May 2, 2008. Please make sure to fill out every line of the application, as incomplete forms will not be accepted. Our first and foremost goal is to match each coach with the team that can best utilize their experience.
The Coaching application can be downloaded by clicking the 2008-2009 Coaching Application link on the left.

USA HOCKEY COACHES HELMET POLICY

From the 2006-2007 USA Hockey Annual Guide, p. 134:

"All ice hockey coaches and instructors of registered USA Hockey youth/high school, disabled, girls/women's 19 & under and below programs must properly wear an approved ice hockey helmet during all on-ice sessions, including practices, controlled scrimmages and coach and referee clinics (seminars)."

PRACTICE GAME REFEREE SCHEDULING

Missouri Ice Hockey Officials Association (MIHOA) has instituted a new procedure for scheduling referees for ALL practice games and tournaments effective Sept. 2, 2004.

Each team representative MUST forward a schedule of HOME practice/exhibition games to Tom Woolf of MIHOA at wtwoof@swbell.net. Tom will send the team representative a user name and password to the MIHOA scheduling web site. Use the user name and password to request officials for your games. You should only request officials for exhibition/practice games that your team will be responsible for paying for the officials. There will be a $2.00 charge per game for any/all exhibition games outside of any league games for the team.  In the event that your are playing a team from out of town, request the officials and get payment from the team that you are playing. Officials are NOT TO BE PAID at the game. They will be paid by MIHOA. KYHA will be billed on a monthly basis for official's services. The KYHA treasurer will bill each team for their referee fees.

If you have questions, please contact Tom Woolf of MIHOA at wtwoof@swbell.net. Tom's phone # is 314-631-3998. Deb Hellwig can be reached at 636-938-7684.
